What is it about this Slice of Life challenge that created utter silence in my classroom and how do I make it last? The daily five minute writing time tends to be somewhat chaotic depending on who’s present and who’s absent but today everyone wrote! A few one liners but students truly transferred thoughts to paper in silence as I sat in my chair unable to conjure the words to write because of the utter awe I felt. Is the writing working? I don’t know, but it most certainly worked today! 🙂
Writing is working… Day 1 of #SOL14

For the March SOL challenge, please enter the unique URL for the individual post, not the whole blog. This is day 3 if this was for Tuesday. Your URL for this post is https://myartofbecoming.wordpress.com/2014/03/04/writing-is-working-day-1-of-sol14/
Oh that makes sense! Thank you so much Donna 🙂 1st time! It was supposed to be a Monday post but for some reason it stamped it for Tuesday, I still had 8min left on the clock.
What a joy to be a part of! I love that you are working intentionally to create a classroom of true writers. Keep it up!
Thank you Deserie 🙂
It is wonderful that you are doing the Slice with your students. Do you have computers for all of your students?
Hi Dawn 🙂 Yes, we do have computers and I will be working towards getting the students to blog virtually but I want to ease them into this, plus the computers are very finicky so didn’t want to waste precious class time.
I love that feeling when my students are absorbed in their reading or writing. I, too, stand in awe!
Very rare in my setting and yes, truly nothing like it in the world! 🙂
